Merts in the community

Since opening its kitchen in 1998, Mert’s Heart and Soul has maintained a solid and consistent commitment to the Charlotte metropolitan community. Mert’s has partnered with many nonprofit organizations that support an array of causes such as literacy, health, homelessness, and youth development.

By forming community partnerships with organizations such as the Metrolina Aids Project, the Freedom Regional Library, and Needs for Beads, Mert’s helps to ensure the provision of families, children and individuals in need by donating thousands of pounds of its delicious entrees and desserts to special programs, celebrations and fundraising events.

To date, Mert’s has been honored with numerous awards showcasing its commitment and passion for the community. Most recently, Mert’s owners James and Renee Bazzelle were honored by Distinguished Partners, Inc. for their community outreach and The Belmont Center Library for their support of the branch’s annual May Festival.
